Welcome back. These experimental operations caught our eye since the last issue.

Space Telecommunications Inc. (STI) received an extension of Special Temporary Authority (STA) WX9XKR for testing its Spacecoin satellite CTC-0, launched in December 2024. STI and an allied unit, Space Network, are projects of entrepreneur Tae Lim Oh, founder of the blockchain venture Gluwa.

By providing an “end-to-end decentralized financial ecosystem, Gluwa connects capital from developed markets to emerging market lending opportunities through blockchain technology,” the company said.

STI describes Spacecoin as “the world's first decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) powered by blockchain-enabled LEO nanosatellite constellations, positioned to become the standard open protocol for trustless internet connectivity on a global scale – connecting everyone and everything.” The system is detailed in the technical paper A Decentralized Connectivity Network.
